MSL Foundation Empowers Over 250 Students in Ebonyi North

The MSL Foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 250 students from the Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, reinforcing its commitment to education and human capital development in Ebonyi State.

The award ceremony, held in Abakaliki, featured beneficiaries from Ebonyi, Izzi, Abakaliki, and Ohaukwu Local Government Areas, alongside government officials, academics, community leaders, and parents.

Founder of the foundation, Mr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, said the initiative was driven by a passion to support hardworking students facing financial challenges. He noted that the programme, previously limited to Abakaliki LGA, has now been expanded to cover the entire Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone.

The foundation currently supports about 250 university students across various disciplines, including medicine, engineering, and law. Plans are underway to enhance transparency by paying tuition fees directly to institutions in future editions.

Beyond scholarships, the MSL Foundation also runs empowerment programmes and skills acquisition initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods at the grassroots.

MSL Foundation located in Ebonyi state visit the psychiatric unit in Fetha

In line with the annual engagement of my over five years MSL foundation born out of my existential experiences, I visited Federal Teaching Hospital and Mile Four Hospital where my foundation assisted in discharging treated and detained indigent citizens of Ebonyi.

It was an emotional, yet revealing experience, especially with 3-year-old little miss Destiny from Ibeagu IZZI who has been treated for broken limbs and withheld by hospital authorities as a result of her parents’ inability to pay a little to half a million treatment bill four half a year. Her mother who was taking care of her had been amputated from a similar limb accident.

At the psychiatric unit of FETHA, we paid for the discharge of some Ebonyi youths treated for various mental disorders and detained as a result of financial inabilities.

At mile Four, it was festival detention of kids and their mothers after birth as a result of inability to pay hospital bills after birth, from mothers of twins to mothers of pre-teen babies where bills were visibly above parents’ financial burden. We were able to pay for as much as our foundation MSL foundation can bear.

Our Foundation is purposely in pursuit of MATTEW 25:40 that says

“Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you have done it unto me”

I encourage our well-to-do brothers and sisters to join in occasional means of helping our brothers and sisters in various health Facilities who have been treated and detained From the hospital records, the number is increasing in geometric progression daily.
